Van Wert cruised to a 4-1 win over Lehman Catholic on Monday. The match was scheduled to be played on the road, but was moved to Van Wert due to rain in the Sidney area.

Devon Story got the nod at first singles and defeated Tommy Lins 6-4, 6-0, while Caleb Bledsoe enjoyed a 6-1, 6-2 win over Logan Linson at second singles. Lehman Catholic’s Ethan Taylor beat Nash Pugsley at third singles, 6-2, 6-3. “I’m really proud of our guys’ effort tonight,” head coach Eli Alvarez said. “We mixed up our lineup and allowed some JV players to get varsity experience. Nash, Keaton and Cole really played well tonight against good competition. We’re hoping this match gives us momentum heading into the final days of our season.”
