Van Wert independent/Buckeye Youth information
Buckeye Youth will be hosting a Fun Day on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, January 16, when there is no school) from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the YWCA, 408 E. Main St. in Van Wert.
This fun “no school day” event is open to all area children 5 to 12 years old. There will be many interesting space-related presentations and activities, including a special program from the Neil Armstrong Air & Space Museum and a planetarium display. In addition to those activities, there will be swimming, games and making space related crafts. Two snacks will be provided and each child should bring a swimsuit, towel and a sack lunch.
The cost is $10 for Buckeye Youth and YWCA members and $12 for non-members. Each additional sibling is $7. There will be teen supervision from Buckeye Youth members and area high school service clubs, as well as staff and adult volunteers for the day.
Registration and payment are preferred by Friday, January 13, at the Buckeye Youth office, 147 E. Main St., Suite D, in Van Wert (at the northwest corner of Market and Main streets, second door on Market Street). Buckeye Youth will be accepting registration forms at the office Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 5-7 p.m.
To pre-register, call 419.238.3546 and leave a phone number, the child’s name, age and time of arrival. Buckeye Youth is a United Way agency.
