House fire on 127

A house fire that occurred early this morning at a residence near the intersection of U.S. 127 and Wetzel Road in Van Wert County did heavy damage to the house, but no one was injured, according to reports at the scene. The fire was reported at approximately 3:30 a.m. today, with firefighters and other first responders from Scott, Grover Hill and Convoy on the scene. The Van Wert County Sheriff’s Department provided traffic control, while the Van Wert County Chapter of the American Red Cross was also at the scene to provide warm drinks and other refreshments to firefighters and others at the scene.
