John William Harkins

John William Harkins, 55, of Paulding, died Sunday, January 15, 2012, at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born January 20, 1956, in New Brunswick, N.J., the son of the late Eugene V. and Jane Bell (Shedden) Harkins.

Survivors include his fiancée, Karen J. Colley of Paulding; three children, Adam Harkins of Athens, Pa., Joe (Courtney) Harkins of Vacaville, Calif., and Caitlin (Dylan) White of Mildenhall, Norfolk, England; two sisters, Diane (Dave) Lawson of Lynchburg, Va., and Mary Lou (Bill) Wesp of Plainsboro, N.J.; a brother, Michael Harkins of Ulster, Pa.; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, January 20, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Paulding.

Calling hours are from 11 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
