Area Girl Scouts now selling cookies

Three cheers for cookies! The Girl Scouts of Van Wert County are now selling Girl Scout cookies and taking orders for the Super Six — Thin Mints, Tagalongs, Samoas, Do-Si-Dos, Trefoils, and Savannah Smiles — the new cookie this year.

Cookies are $3.50 a box and delivery for pre-orders begins February 23. Girl Scout troops in Van Wert are also participating In “Gift of Caring”, both the Appleseed Council-sponsored Gift of Caring that sends cookies purchased to Heroes in Action and Operation Thank You, as well as a local Gift of Caring that provides cookies to a local food pantry.

Those who would like to purchase cookies for themselves or for Gift of Caring, can call Carla Smith-Shaffer at 419.749.4246. Smith-Shaffer can take orders and match buyers up with a troop or Girl Scout in the area to make delivery easier.
