Knight Scholastic Bowl team takes title

SIDNEY — The Crestview High School Scholastic Bowl team traveled south this past Saturday to compete in the Sidney Social Studies Tournament, which consisted of a field of 30 teams.  The Crestview A Team defeated St. Marys, Celina, Ben Logan, Tipp City, and then Troy in overtime to be seeded first in the final bracket. The local team then defeated Troy and Ben Logan to advance to the semifinals.

Before going into the semifinals and final match, however, three of the team’s top four members had to leave for another commitment, and junior varsity players took their places, stepped up to the challenge, and the team pulled off two more wins against St. Marys and Northmont to take home the championship.

This makes three tournament wins out of four competitions so far this season and brings the teams match record to 23-2. It was also a great win against a number of schools much larger than Crestview.
