Lancer girls fall to Delphos Jefferson
The Lincolnview Lady Lancer basketball team got off to a good start against Delphos Jefferson, but couldn’t sustain the effort through four quarters, allowing the Lady Wildcats to rally for a 60-43 victory in Northwest Conference action on Thursday.
The Lady Lancers led 17-9 at the end of the first quarter and 35-26 at the half, but Jefferson outscored the Lancers 34-8 in the second half to earn the NWC victory.
Lincolnview was led by Kaylee Thatcher’s 14 points, while Carley Springer added 11 points and Katie Dye scored 9 points for the Lady Lancers. Kennedy Bogs led Jefferson — and all players — with 23 points on the night, with Megan Gilden scoring 14 points and Courtney Lewis adding 10 counters for the Wildcats.
With the win, Jefferson is now 8-5 overall, while the Lancers are 5-9 on the year.
The Lincolnview junior varsity team was victorious, beating the Wildcat JVs 37-33 in overtime. The Lancer JV team is now 8-6 on the year.
The Lancers will next play at Lima Central Catholic on January 26.
