Texting scam reported in the county

The Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office is advising residents to beware of a scam involving text messages.

According to the alert, the Sheriff’s Office has received reports of bogus texts claiming to be from CVS, stating that your credit card has been or will be charged. Contact was made with CVS confirming the texts are bogus.
