From left, Conner Campbell, Trey Laudick, Aiden Pratt, Mrs. Johnson, Alexis Miller, Owen Treece, and Joe Schaufelberger were recognized for showing "initiative." A tradition at St. Mary of the Assumtpion School during Epiphany is for someone to bring in a King Cake with a small plastic Jesus hidden somewhere in it. The person who gets the baby is suppose to bring in the King Cake next year. This cake takes its name from the three kings who visited baby Jesus. It is part of the Twelve Days of Christmas and is said that the three kings arrived to honor Jesus on the Epiphany. The season for the cake extends from the Epiphany to Mardi Gras. Hank Kopak, finder of "baby Jesus" received a crown and had the honor of helpinghelp Mrs. Tate "chalk" the Kindergarten door. (Photo submitted.)
