Horine shines at WBL bowling tournament

LIMA – Van Wert’s Reagan Horine had a memorable day at the Western Buckeye League bowling championships at Westgate Lanes this week.
Horine, a senior, was the girls’ runner-up medalist and earned first team All-WBL honors after recording a sparkling 209-206-182-597 series, the second highest score of the tournament behind Defiance’s Mabel Adams (245-201-236-682).

Also competing for Van Wert were Lindsey Say (132-155-225-511), Aydreigh Hanicq (140-158-188-486), Makayla Wannemacher (168-158-146-472) and Gracelynn Brown (134-191-325).
As a team, Van Wert finished third in the standings behind Celina and St. Marys Memorial. Bath and Shawnee finished fourth and fifth, followed by Wapakoneta, Defiance, Kenton, Elida and Ottawa-Glandorf.
On the boys’ side, St. Marys Memorial and Ottawa-Glandorf finished as WBL co-champions, followed by Celina, Kenton and Shawnee, then Wapakoneta, Van Wert seventh, Defiance, Elida and Bath.
The Cougars were led by Maverik Bigham, who logged a 172-186-232-590 series, followed by Tristan Blackmore (223-146-193-562), Zaide Blue (160-194-154-508), Jayden Page (149-130-222-501), Braden Miller (168-138-298) and Scot Hudson (142).
The high individual series belonged to Ottawa-Glandorf’s Aiden Ruhe (226-233-233-692).
