Etta May Kreischer
Etta May Kreischer, 84, of Van Wert, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at Van Wert Manor.

She was born June 1, 1927, in Paulding County, the daughter of the late Orvel and Florence (Pease) Reed. On May 7, 1947, she married Richard “Dick” Kreischer, who survives in Van Wert.
Etta was a homemaker and was a member of St. Paul’s Reformed Church in Harrison Township.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three children, Yevonne (James) Chiapetta of Perrysburg, Vicki (Stanley “Stan”) Laux of Celina and Richard (Suzanne) Kreischer Jr. of Van Wert; six grandchildren, Lisa (Ross) Bowe of Perrysburg, Jon (Heather) Chiapetta of Sylvania, Stephen (Ashley) Laux of Celina, Christopher (fiancée Tiffany Whittle) Laux of Ann Arbor, Mich., Zachary (Erika) Kreischer of Van Wert and Michelle Kreischer of Philadelphia, Pa.; and four great-grandchildren, Sebastian Michael Kreischer, Brody Richard Kreischer, Cadence Emery Laux and Desmond Joseph Chiapetta.
Two sisters, Ruth Kreischer and Betty Missler, also preceded her in death.
Etta was a donor of the Anatomical Gift Program for Medical Research at the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University in Dayton. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 11, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Chad Strabbing officiating.
Calling hours are from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
Preferred donations: Alzheimer’s Association and St. Paul’s Reformed Church in Harrison Township.
