Lancer girls eke out win over Paulding

It was close all the way, but the Lincolnview Lady Lancers prevailed, 51-50, over Northwest Conference foe Paulding on Thursday night.
The Lady Panthers took a one-point lead, 16-15, in the first quarter, and led by three, 25-22, at the half. Lincolnview staged a mini-rally in the second half, though, outscoring the Panthers 29-25 for the one-point victory.
Leading the Lady Lancers was Katie Dye, with 21 points, while sister Claire added 11 points for Lincolnview. Jessica Farr led Paulding with a game-high 25 points, while Abbey Edwards scored 10 points for the Lady Panthers.
With the win, the Lancers go to 6-13 on the year and 2-6 in NWC competition. Paulding is now 3-16 and 1-7 in league play.
The Lincolnview junior varsity team also won, beating the Panther JVs 42-18. With the win, the Lancer JV team is now 11-8 on the year.
The Lancers will next travel to Spencerville on February 16 for a league battle with the Lady Bearcats.
