Tea Party group sets Presidential Caucus

To provide valuable information and motivation for the critical Ohio Super Tuesday primary election on March 6, the Van Wert County Heart Land Patriots are sponsoring the Van Wert Area Republican Presidential Caucus.

The meeting will convene at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 21, in Trinity Friends Church’s Youth Room, located in the Family Life Center, 605 N. Franklin St. in Van Wert.

The Patriots are inviting area voters to come prepared to participate in this unique, non-binding presidential caucus. Voters may call the Rev. Keith Stoller at 419.968.2869 to register for the opportunity to speak on behalf of their favorite among the four remaining Republican presidential primary candidates: Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney, and Ron Paul.

The Patriots will allot a maximum of 15 minutes for each candidate’s supporters to speak on his behalf.  Following supporters’ speeches, ballots will be distributed and all in attendance will be encouraged to vote for their choice for the Presidency. The votes will be counted that evening, and results reported to the group in attendance, as well as all area media.
