Donald E. Seekings Jr.

Donald E. “Cook” Seekings Jr., 50, of Van Wert, died at 2:55 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2012, at his residence.

He was born December 2, 1961, in Van Wert, the son of the late Donald E. Sr. and Carolyn Ann “Dimp” (Hines) Seekings. On May 23, 1981, he married Betsy A. (Rider) Seekings, who survives.

Other survivors include a son, Jeremy J. (Debbie) Seekings of Ohio City; two brothers, Gene (Tami) Seekings and Eric Seekings, both of Van Wert; a stepbrother, Terry (Terri) Hasch of Paulding; two sisters, Jenny Brown of Van Wert and Erin Seekings of Oklahoma; and two grandchildren.

His stepmother, Virginia (Verfaillie) Schlatman; two brothers, Louis John Seekings and Monty Seekings; and a stepsister, Laura Hasch, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 17, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Mike Harper officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.
