C’view sets PSE/dual enrollment meetings

Van Wert independent/Crestview information

CONVOY — On Monday night, February 27, the Crestview High School Guidance Department will be hosting meetings on post-secondary education and dual enrollment. The post-secondary meeting will be conducted by guidance counselor Dave Springer, starting at 6:30 p.m., in the high school library.

This meeting is available to parents of all high school students for the 2012-2013 school year and would be for students who want to physically attend college at the same time as attending Crestview and receive credit for both. Students would have to be accepted at the college of their choice.

The dual enrollment meeting will be conducted by guidance counselor Kris Kill. This meeting will take place on the same night and will also be in the high school library, starting at 7 p.m. Crestview and Wright State University have formed a partnership that allows students this opportunity. This meeting would be for parents of students going into their senior year during the 2012-2013 school year.

As part of the program, high school seniors may take a course at Crestview and receive college credit for that same course at a reduced price. These credits will most likely be accepted at the college the student chooses to attend. Parents or students are responsible for the cost of the coursework.

Wright State representative Gretchen Rentz will be available to explain this program and to answer any specific questions.

For more information, call Springer (extension 6002) or Kill (extension 6001) at the high school.
