Bashore named to OMEA All State Choir

Daniel Bashore, the son of Gregg and Sandy Bashore, will be performing this Friday in Columbus as a member of the Ohio Music Education Association’s All State Choir.

There were close to 1,000 applicants for the choir and the selection process was very competitive. Bashore is a senior at Van Wert High School and has been very active in the music and drama department.  He has been selected to participate in the OMEA District 3 Honors Choir for four years, and has participated in Solo & Ensemble contests both as a vocalist and instrumentalist, receiving numerous superior ratings.

The VWHS senior has also performed many roles in school musicals. This spring he will be “the Beast” in the school’s performance of Beauty and the Beast.

Outside of school, Bashore has participated in the 9/11 Tribute Men’s Chorus, in community performances of Handel’s Messiah two years, and has also performed in the Young Artists Recital.

He plans to attend Miami University majoring in vocal music education.
