L’view sets kindergarten registration

Parents in the Lincolnview Local School District who have a child who will be 5 years old on or before August 1 may register the child for the 2012-2013 school year for all day, every day kindergarten. Part-time requests will also be accommodated.

Registration will be conducted the week of March 5-9, from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at Lincolnview Elementary School. Registration will take about 10 minutes.

Registration forms are also available on the Lincolnview school website at www.lincolnview.k12.oh.us. Parents may complete the form and bring it with them to registration to expedite the process. Those registering children will be given an appointment for kindergarten screening. Those who want their child to attend kindergarten at Lincolnview, but live outside the district, should plan to register and attend screening sessions at Lincolnview, as open enrollment space can be limited.

Open enrollment forms can be obtained during kindergarten registration. Applications are considered in the order received. The open enrollment window is from April 1 through May 31 for all other grade-level students.

Parents wanting to register a child for kindergarten should bring the child’s social security card, official birth certificate and immunization records with them to registration. Custody papers should also be included, if applicable.

Immunizations needed before starting school include four doses of the polio vaccine, five doses of DPT vaccine, two doses of the MMR vaccine, three doses of the Hepatitis B vaccine and two doses of the varicella (chicken pox) vaccine.

Lincolnview kindergarten screening will be held Tuesday, April 3, and Wednesday, April 4, at First Baptist Church, located on the corner of Jennings and Mendon roads. Prior registration during the week of March 5 is required to participate in the screening.
