Virginia M. Painter

Virginia M. Painter, 95, of Willshire, died at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Colonial Nursing Center in Rockford.

She was born April 8, 1916, in Willshire, the daughter of the late Audi F. and Flordeltha (Straubinger) Passwater. On August 4, 1937, she married Cleo Roy Painter, who preceded her in death on March 21, 2002.

Survivors include a son, Rex C. Painter of Willshire; two granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; two sisters-in-law, Janet (Painter) Speelman of Scott and Janette Painter of Willshire; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 23, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastors Bud Larrimore and John Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Willshire Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home. The Van Wert Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, will hold a memorial service at the funeral home at 7:30 Wednesday evening.
