Cougar wrestlers earn berths at district

LIMA — The Van Wert wrestling team finished eighth in the district tournament at Shawnee on Saturday — out of the running for a team appearance at district — but three wrestlers qualified for district individually.

Zack Burk, wrestling at 126 pounds, and Terrin Contreras, wrestling as a 285-pounder, each finished second in his weight class to earn a trip to district.

Also earning a berth at district was Zach Thomas, who finished fourth in the 220-pound weight class.
