VW police probe rash of break-ins, thefts

A number of local residences were burglarized or had items stolen from vehicles parked at the residences overnight Friday.

Van Wert Police are investigating break-ins and thefts from vehicles that occurred in the 900 block of Elm Street, the 200 block of Webster Avenue, the 900 block of Park Street, the 400 block of Dickinson Avenue, the 300 block of Boyd Avenue, the 100 block of East Raymond Street, and 700 block of Virginia Avenue, and 400 block of Gordon Avenue.

Wallets and purses were stolen from vehicles, while items were also taken from residences that were broken into.

Several vehicles had windows broken out, while residences also were damaged during several break-ins.
