Dorothy N. Carlisle
Dorothy N. Carlisle, 88, of Paulding, died Friday, February 17, 2012, at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born October 5, 1923, in Spencerville, Ind., the daughter of the late Clarence J. and Jane L. (Dorsey) Hissong. On December 23, 1945, she married Gerald “Gib” Carlisle, who preceded her in death on December 7, 1985.
Survivors include four sons, Edgar (Mae Lee) Carlisle, Roger (Janet) Carlisle and Dennis (Cheryl) Carlisle, all of Paulding, and Ronald (Susan) Carlisle of Antwerp; four daughters, Judith (Lawrence) Densmore of Oakwood, Marsha Bennett, Patricia (Larry) Burkley and Pam Font, all of Paulding; a brother, Richard Hissong of Woodburn, Ind.; two sisters, Rosa Hannah of Bryan and Virginia Johnson of Traverse City, Mich.; 30 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
A son-in-law; four brothers; four sisters; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, with Pastor Eileen Kochensparger officiating. Burial will be in Scipio Cemetery in Allen County, Ind.
Calling hours are from 2:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, at the funeral home, where Paulding Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 2405 will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 that evening.
Preferred memorials: Community Health Professionals/Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
