Dorothy P. Shock

Dorothy P. Shock, 92, of Rockford, died at 7:12 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.

She was born December 10, 1919, near Pennville, Ind., the daughter of the late Walter C. and Virgie (Champ) Wright. On December 29, 1945, she married Max C. Shock, who preceded her in death on October 15, 2009.

Survivors include a brother, Royce (Mary Ellen) Wright of Portland, Ind.; one sister, Velma Hunt of Carol, Mich.; a brother-in-law, Gerald (Sondra) Dickson of Portland, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

Two sisters, Maxine Kessler and Carolyn Sue Dickson, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, February 24, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 23, and an hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Rockford United Methodist Church.
