Tennis team wins!

Van Wert picked up its first girls tennis win of the young season with a 3-2 win at Elida on Thursday. Both Cougar doubles teams posted victories, with Bristol Wollet and Ella Kimmel defeating Elida’s Abigail Lewis and Chloe Myers 6-1, 6-0 at first doubles, while the second doubles team of Annabelle Miller and Ixchell Castillo topped Katelyn Warner and Julianna Ferguson 6-0, 6-1. Van Wert’s other win came at third singles, with Alli Spieles defeating Morgan Dunahay 6-1, 6-2. The Cougars (1-3, 1-1 WBL) will host Celina at 9 a.m. Saturday. Photo submitted
