Nancy D. Johnson

Nancy D. Johnson, 81, of Middle Point, passed away Wednesday evening, August 20, 2026, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

She was born on May 30, 1945, in Wayne County, the daughter of Flory and Martha (Cutter) Virgil, who both preceded her in death. On April 6, 1965, she married James Albert Johnson, who preceded her in death on March 7, 2015.

Nancy is survived by her four children, Michael Johnson of Venedocia, Jennifer Johnson of Wooster, Tammy Johnson of Van Wert, and Laura Johnson of Middle Point; three grandchildren, Vanessa (Matthew) Sans, Miranda Johnson, Larissa Johnson and Hope Young; two great-grandchildren, Myah Johnson, Luke Sans and a baby on the way, a sister, Judy (Ron) Reinking of Wooster..

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Flory.

Nancy was a proud member of the Middle Point United Methodist Church where she was also a part of the womens club. Additionally she was very active in 4H and the homemakers club. She loved gardening, cooking and crafting..

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 24, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Van Wert, with Pastor Tim Owens officiating. Internment will follow at Ridge Cemetery. There will be visitation at the funeral home from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, August 23.

Preferred memorials: the Van Wert Special Olympics or Middle Point United Methodist Church.
