VWHS students perform
The duo of Luke Brubaker (above left) and Scott Turner took first place in Van Wert High School’s talent show held Friday afternoon in the Niswonger Performing Arts Center. Brubaker and Turner performed a piano duet. Turner’s piano solo featuring a medley of pop songs took first place in the individual division, while Jenn Carnahan’s performance of Adele’s “Someone Like You” placed second. Trey Stemen’s vocal solo of “So Good” placed third. The quartet of Jenna Waterman, Jacob Hoverman, Danielle Slagel and Daniel Bashore took second place in the group category for their rendition of Bon Jovi’s “Living on a Prayer,” and taking third place in the group category was Kim Hohman’s DanceWorks dancers (below).
