Eaton donates to Crisis Care program

Information submitted

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced a “Powering Communities Grant” totaling $30,000 to support Crisis Care Line, Inc. in the Van Wert area.  The donation will be used to purchase a safe vehicle for the staff to respond to crisis situations and to provide the means to move a family into shelter.

Building on Eaton’s tradition of corporate citizenship, the company’s “Powering Communities Grants” help improve the quality of life in communities where Eaton employees live and work.

Crisis Care Line is the implementing agency that facilitates the project of the Family Visitation Center.  The visitation center provides a safe, neutral environment for children to either be exchanged to the non-residential parent and/or to provide supervised visits for families in need of this service.  This is a service to keep the children out of the middle of adult conflict.

“Thanks to Eaton Corporation, Crisis Care Line will be able to purchase a new van,” said Crisis Care Executive Director Kathy Boaz.

A portion of the funds will also be used to reopen the Van Wert County Family Visitation Center that was forced to close on December 23, 2011, after exhausting all funding options.

“Eaton prides itself in supporting organizations that benefit students and citizens,” said Van Wert Plant Manager Carey Welker. “We continue to encourage community involvement and believe that doing so creates healthy, sustainable communities and business facilities.”
