Leland D. Brown

Leland D. Brown, 79, of Van Wert, died at 10:25 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born November 1, 1932, in Liberty Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Pearl Raymond and Laura Etta (Johnson) Brown. On December 14, 1989, he married Barbara (Sennebogen) Brown, who survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Karen S. (Michael P.) Burcham of Van Wert; two sons, Jerry D. (Pam) Brown and Doug L. (Pam) Brown, both of Van Wert; one brother, Herbert J. (Ginger) Brown of Van Wert; a sister, Dorothy (Roy) Marsee of St. Marys; two stepchildren, Christine (Robert) Holman of Denver, Colo., and Michael (Bonnie) McAbee of Van Wert; eight grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Six brothers, Buster A. Brown, Joseph E. Brown, Raymond R. Brown, Emmitt F. Brown, Arthur L. Brown and Eugene Wayne Brown; and two sisters, Lela Leona Adelblue and D. Marcile Longwell, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Friday, March 30, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
