Anna Lucille Handwerk Ickes Eber

Anna Lucille Handwerk Ickes Eber, 83, of Ohio City, died at 6 a.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Colonial Nursing Home in Rockford.

She was born April 1, 1929, in Schumm, the daughter of the late Albert Lawrence “Jack” and Viola Henrietta (Reidenbach) Handwerk. On August 9, 1947, she married Dane Wilson Ickes, who died March 15, 1984. On April 28, 1978, she married Robert Eugene “Joe” Eber, who also preceded her in death on September 12, 1986.

Survivors include a son, Gary E. (Rose) Ickes of Van Wert; four daughters, Beverly Sue Morrissette of Saratoga, Wyo., Phyllis Ann (Gary) Rice and Diane L. (Max) Denman, both of Ohio City, and Brenda L. (Ricky) Jackson of Monroeville, Ind.; three stepchildren, Larry Eber and Brenda (Ronald) Fackler, both of Van Wert, and Russel Eber of St. Marys; two sisters, Vera Pruden of Van Wert and Donna M. Taylor of Venice, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Doyle and Lester Handwerk, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, April 6, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Scott Fleming officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at the funeral home.
