Service Club sets dates of fundraiser

Service Club information

The Van Wert Service Club would like to announce its annual Pancake & Sausage Breakfast fundraising event will be held Saturday, May 5, in the Van Wert High School commons. The event will run from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

According to Brad Greve, chairman of this year’s event, the annual Pancake and Sausage Breakfast is the first of two fundraising events in which the club is involved in each year. The money raised during the breakfast event is used to fund many worthwhile projects and activities in the Van Wert community.  The Service Club finances several countywide speech and hearing projects, including the Thomas Edison Speech & Hearing Center and the Van Wert County Summer Speech program.

In years past, the club has provided speech amplification units in the Van Wert, Lincolnview, Crestview, and St. Mary’s school systems.

The Service Club also supports the following projects, activities, and organizations: Van Wert High School Service Pack Club, Van Wert Youth Baseball, Van Wert County Junior Fair, Van Wert County Junior Achievement, Buckeye Boys and Girls State, the R.K. Thompson Self Reliance Scholarship & Award Program, Day of Caring Food Drive, Community Health Professionals, Van Wert County Hospital Emergency Room, Van Wert County Historical Society, Van Wert City Educator Endowment Fund, Van Wert DARE Program, Van Wert Youth Football, United Way, The Salvation Army, Van Wert 4-H, Boy Scouts of America, Wee Care Day Care, and Van Wert High School and Middle School Renaissance Programs.

Service Club members would like to invite everyone to join them at this year’s fundraising event.  Adult tickets are $6 and children’s tickets $3. Tickets can be purchased at the door or from any Service Club member.
