Basket collectors!  The Van Wert County Fair is happy to announce the opening of sales for its limited edition 156th anniversary basket.

Fair organizers are offering the “medium crock” basket, which features a commemorative brass tag, blue ribbon tacks, blue anniversary weave and plastic protector. This year’s edition will also have a laser-cut lid featuring the Dairy Barn and a wrought-iron handle. The basket measures 7.75 by 6 by 6.5 inches and is priced at $50. Each basket is hand woven using hard maple and is 100 percent custom made by American Traditions Basket Company in historic Canal Fulton. The company specializes in customizing keepsake baskets for organizations, schools and fundraisers and has been producing handmade, heirloom quality baskets for customers in all 50 states for over 15 years.

All baskets can be registered to receive a lifetime warranty that covers workmanship and materials.

The Fair Board will accept payment by cash, check or credit card (VISA and MasterCard.)  Purchasers will be called when their order arrives and the baskets will be available for pick-up at the fair office.
