Lunch and Learn Program and Summer Camps
By Hope Wallace
The excitement and energy level at the Wassenberg Art Center has recently kicked up a

notch since the announcement of a new round of classes last week. But wait! We aren’t finished yet! We are also positively ramped up about our new “Lunch & Learn” program and our expanded Summer Camps! We’re introducing a new camp instructor, Mark LeMieux, Paulding. Mark graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in Industrial Design and will be teaching Mad Claymation and Muppet Mania. He has a background in toy design and has worked on Disney’s® popular Inspector Gadget series. In Mad Claymation students will learn how to create their own video using stop-action photography and story boarding. Muppet Mania shows young people how to create a real “live” Muppet using the same techniques as the pros. Our camps do not stop with these two, however. Back by emphatic demand, Matt Temple will be teaching several different types of camps including ceramics, sculpture and of course, Animé/Manga.
Below you can see the different camp offerings suitable for all ages. Class times/dates may be subject to change and/or substitution depending on sign ups/response.
Our Lunch & Learn program is an alternative work-day lunch program where we feed you and offer presentations on art, local artists or even complete a quick art project. For around the price of a typical workday lunch you can be entertained, educated and get a break from work!
