G. Warren Jones

G. Warren “Jonesy” Jones, 95, of Van Wert, died at 8:12 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born November 18, 1916, in Ohio City, the son of the late Russell W. and Hazel M. (Bevington) Jones. On October 19, 1946, he married Patricia Louise (Thurston) Jones, who preceded him in death on May 6, 2007.

Survivors include a son, Michael G. (Barbara) Jones of Sarasota, Fla.; two daughters, Cindy Lou Jones of Van Wert and Caryl Ann Jones of Arvada, Colo.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A son, Jerry Alan Jones; and a sister, Thelma, also preceded him in death.

A “celebration of life” memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Revs. Paul W. Miller and Stuart Wyatt officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, with graveside military rites performed by American Legion Post 346 in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
