CoA to host Designer Purse Bingo event

On Friday evening, June 15, the Van Wert Council on Aging will host a Designer Purse Bingo at the senior center, 220 Fox Road in Van Wert. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the senior center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The cost is $15 if tickets are purchased by June 8. After that date, the cost will be $20, if any tickets remain (a ticket would make a nice Mother’s Day gift).

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and Early Bird games will begin at 6 p.m. Early Bird packets will be available for $5. Following Early Bird games, the fun will continue with 20 more Bingo games that will be played for authentic designer purses. There will also be several raffles, a 50/50 drawing, and a “spin the wheel” drawing. Food will be available and door prizes will be given out.

The high cost of fuel is a huge problem for the Council on Aging. Every day, the agency has two or three vans on the road from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Many seniors require trips to medical facilities outside of the county, so the Council routinely makes trips to Fort Wayne, Defiance, Celina, and Lima.  The Purse Bingo fundraiser will assist the CoA to continue to provide these important services to local senior citizens.
