VW team wins JA Titan Tournament
JA information
Van Wert Service Club partnered with Junior Achievement in sponsoring the annual Titan Tournament. Students from Crestview, Lincolnview, and Van Wert High schools recently competed in the Junior Achievement Titan Tournament, which was held at Van Wert High School on May 2.

Eight teams competed in a computer-simulated business game in which classmates compete in teams against each other over who can create the most successful business. During rounds of play, the students must make business decisions for pricing, production, research and development, marketing, and capital investments in their companies. After each round of play, students consult industry reports to make real-time adjustments to their business plan in effort to triumph as the true titan of the business world.
This year’s winners were Sydney Riethman, Keith Hough, Justin Price, Brittany Myers, and Joe Moonshower of Van Wert High school. Each member of the winning team was awarded $50.
Junior Achievement would like to thank the Van Wert Service Club for its sponsorship of the tournament, as well as Pizza Hut and Pick ‘N’ Save for donating pizza and water to all of the participants and teachers.
A special thanks goes to teachers Mike Bowen of Crestview, Katie Majewski of Van Wert, and Rachel Rohrs of Lincolnview; JA Economics volunteer Pat Jackson of Central Companies; and Van Wert High School for hosting the event.
