Denelda Rhoad

Denelda Rhoad, 94, of Scott, died at 7:35 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at Country Inn Enhanced Living Center in Paulding County.

She was born August 25, 1917, near Roselm in Washington Township, Paulding County, the daughter of the late Roy and Mae (Sites) Halter. On May 14, 1942, she married Floyd G. Rhoad, who preceded her in death on March 13, 1987.

Mrs. Rhoad was a homemaker and a 1935 graduate of Grover Hill High School. She was a member of Harvest Field Pentecostal Church of God in Scott, where she was pianist, organist and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She also was a member of the Veterans Auxiliary of Gideons International. She enjoyed playing the piano and many other activities at Country Inn Enhanced Living Center for seven years.

Survivors include a son, Darrel (Marilyn) Rhoad of Scott; and a granddaughter, Hilary (Stephen) Yoder of Scott.

Two brothers, Darrel Halter and Leland S. Halter, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Terry Martin officiating. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery.

Calling hours are from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Harvest Field Pentecostal Church of God, Gideons International or Country Inn Enhanced Living Center.
