Ending on a Good Note

The time is finally here for swimming, vacations and stress-free weeks. Crestview may be one of the last schools to get released for summer vacation but all students have pushed through the end to do their best.

Exams took place the last four days of the school year. They were split up so that students only had two exams per day. Clare Mefferd said, “I spent hours preparing for my exams.  I think and hope it will pay off, but I am just ready for summer to start.”

The 2012 football pre-season kicked off last Friday with their full team lift workouts. The start of the regular season will be on August 24 against rival Parkway Panthers.  Upcoming Senior, Jake Harmon said, “If we don’t overlook Parkway this year we could drop an absolute beat-down on them.”

The week of exams was one to remember for a certain group of girls. The varsity softball team has done it again. The team worked hard through their season and it finally paid off. Last Wednesday the girls had a send off pep assembly, which pumped up the players as well as the students. The Knights came out on top with a 8-7 win against Strasbourg Franklin on Thursday in the state semi-final game. “There are no words to describe how it felt getting ahead in the seventh inning and getting the three outs in the bottom of the seventh for the win,” said Brittany Helt. This win placed them in the state championship playing against Vienna Mathews on Saturday June 2. There was a great turn out from fans around the Crestview community and the Knights took home the state championship in division four with the score of 6-2.
