VWHS graduate honored by PR Society

Heather Farr (Van Wert High School Class of 2008) was recently recognized at the Central Ohio Public Relations Society of America PRism awards as the area’s “Outstanding Public Relations Student Society of America Graduate.”

Farr, who will graduate summa cum laude from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism in June, was also selected by the journalism school staff as the top graduating senior in public relations.

During her time at Ohio University, Farr was heavily involved in the school’s student-run public relations firm, as well as Ohio’s PRSSA chapter, in which she held many leadership positions, including chapter president.

Farr completed internships in Chicago and New York, and also studied and interned abroad in both Vietnam and Zambia. In addition, she has interned in several departments within the university and was named the Scripps College of Communication “Student Employee of the Year” for her work as editor of Scripps Notes.

This summer, Farr will pursue a postgraduate opportunity in Chicago at top public relations firm GolinHarris.

Farr is the daughter of Ron and Betty Farr of Van Wert.
