Russell D. Comer

Russell D. Comer, 68, of Grover Hill, died at 1:04 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born August 8, 1943, in Paulding County, the son of the late John Comer and Madeline (Rodman) Palte. On November 3, 1984, he married Judith (Hirn) Comer, who also preceded him in death.

Survivors include four sons, Pat Comer of Grover Hill, Chris (Paula) Comer of Middle Point, Shawn (Jody) Comer of Van Wert and Thomas (Tracy) Hirn of Jacksonville, N.C.; a brother, Tim Palte of Haviland; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

His stepfather, Ig Palte; and a brother, Harold Comer, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Ron Lumm officiating. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery in Grover Hill.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at the funeral home.
