Time runs out for Chamber golf outing

The power is back on, the course is in top shape, and the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to make final preparations for the 2012 Golf Classic this Wednesday, July 18, at Hickory Sticks Golf Club.

The Chamber is pleased to announce that it is partnering with the United Way of Van Wert County this year. This partnership adds a bonus to an afternoon well spent playing golf and networking while supporting not only the Chamber, but also an organization that contributes so much to our community.

The outing will begin with registration at noon and a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Mulligan’s Pub and Bistro will serve grilled burgers and brats to golfers as they begin their afternoon of “friendly competitive” golf with a best ball scramble format. Included will be a variety of contests sponsored by Greve Chrysler featuring a putting contest, longest drive, longest putt, closest to the pin and a Hole-in-One contest. Individual and team awards, delicious appetizers and connecting with colleagues will help wrap up the day at Mulligan’s. There will be featured door prizes and a Traveling Trophy award presented.

There are still opportunities available to promote a business while showing support for the Chamber and the United Way.

Cost for non-Chamber members is $75 a player, which includes greens fees, cart rental, range balls, longest drive and closest to the pin contest, lunch, hors d’oeuvres, awards and prizes.
