VWCT auditioning for new comedy

VWCT information

Van Wert Civic Theatre is pleased to announce the first show of its 2012-13 season.  Wrong Window! is a tribute to the master of suspense: Alfred Hitchcock. This comedy whodunit is written by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore.  Directors Mary Ann Falk and Steve Lane will hold auditions on Wednesday, August 1, and Thursday, August 2, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the VWCT playhouse at 118 S. Race St. in Van Wert.

Needed for the cast are five men ranging in ages from 20 to 60 and three women ranging in ages from 20 to 50.

The play begins as off-and-on New York couple Marnie and Jeff enters an even more complicated phase of their relationship when they think they spy their cross-courtyard neighbor do away with his wife.   However, the lady vanishes, and suspicion places murder beyond a shadow of a doubt. The bumbling witnesses sneak into their neighbor’s apartment, and the fun begins. The crazy farce plays out on a shadow-box set that allows the audience to be present in one apartment, while viewing the action in its mirror-image neighboring unit across the way.

These are open auditions, and anyone interested in being part of this show, regardless of acting experience, is encouraged to audition.  Rehearsals will begin soon after auditions, with the show running September 20-23 and 27-30.

Questions and requests for perusal scripts can be addressed to Mary Ann Falk at 419.238.3958 or at majfalk@roadrunner.com.
