Buckeye Youth Summer Camp coming up

The Buckeye Youth Summer Camp will be held at YMCA’s Camp Clay Friday, August 3, and Saturday, August 4. Camp will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday at Camp Clay, located at 9196 Liberty Union Road west of Van Wert.

The camp is open to all boys and girls ages 5-12 years old.  Members fee for camp is $12 for each child and $9 for each additional sibling.  Non-members fee is $15 for each child, while each additional sibling is $12.

Campers should bring a swimsuit, sunscreen, bug spray, towel, pillow, sleeping bag, flashlight, shoes and any toiletry items they may need.  No additional food will be needed, as Buckeye Youth will serve meals and snacks throughout the event. A YMCA “release of liability” waiver must be filled out and signed by a parent of each child.

Permission slips are located outside the Buckeye Youth office, 147 E. Main St., Suite D, in Van Wert, and should be to the Buckeye Youth office by Wednesday, August 1, with payment enclosed. The office will be open Thursday, July 26, Monday, July 30, and Wednesday, August 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. At other times, permission slips can slid under the office door from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone registration will also be accepted until Wednesday, August 1, by calling 419.238.3546 and leaving a message that includes the child’s name, age and phone number.

Buckeye Youth is a United Way agency and receives funding from The Van Wert County Foundation.
