The YMCA Marlins held their summer season banquet on July 26 at St Mary’s School. Coach Lee Schumm recognized three swimmers for breaking Marlin team records this summer.

Addison Henkaline broke two girls’ 11-12 division records. Henkaline set a new mark of 34.66 seconds in the 50-meter butterfly, breaking the old record set on March 3, 2002, by Danielle Miller, and a new mark of 1:20.92 in the 100-meter individual medley, breaking a record set on December 5, 1998, by Ashley Miller.

Sam Easley broke two boys’ 13-14 division records, both previously held by his brothers (Brian and Eric Easley).  In the 50-meter freestyle, he swam a 26.39, breaking brother Brian’s record set March 10, 2007, while he also set a new record of 32.69 seconds in the 50-meter backstroke previously held by his brother Eric, who set it on July 10, 2010.

In 15-18 boys’ division, Eric Easley bettered his own record from last year in the 100-meter IM with a new time of 1:07.93

In addition, Katie McVaigh matched her 50-meter backstroke record of 38.66 seconds that she set last winter.

The Marlins also thanked their coaches: Head Coach Lee Schumm and Assistant Coaches Katie Goodlin and Dulton Moore, for their efforts this season.
