Opal Faye Ankney, 90, of Paulding, died at Paulding County Hospital in Paulding.

She was born December 28, 1921, in Paulding, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Hoover) Glick. On June 16, 1940, she married Estel W. “Jim” Ankney, who preceded her in death on March 20, 2002.

Mrs. Ankney was employed by the former Ben Franklin Store of Paulding for 33 years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Paulding and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Paulding County.

She is survived by two sons, R. Rex (Lula Mae) Ankney and Marv (Lori) Ankney, both of Paulding; a daughter, Melody J. “Mel” (Gary) Schultz of Findlay; one sister, Maxine Hanenkratt of Cecil; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Five brothers, Olen, Roger, Dean, Russell and Charles; and a sister, Edna Schooley, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Paulding. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery in Paulding.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Monday, August 6, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
