Dance, music and romance!

Just coming off a successful performance of the Swan Lake ballet, it’s difficult to think much beyond last night.  However, we move on and move on quickly!  This weekend, we present a musical concert that is fit most appropriately for a Valentine’s Day audience.  Pop pianist Jim Brickman will perform a concert filled with love and romance this Sunday evening at 7:30.  About 20 tickets remain, scattered throughout the performance hall as most couple seats have been filled.  If you are willing to separate from your partner or come alone, you might be able to get in and experience a wonderful concert.

Jim Brickman, who originally hails from Cleveland, Ohio claims to actually know where Van Wert, Ohio is located….and he just might!  Most of the performers we bring to the Niswonger Performing Arts Center learn about Van Wert for the first time.  But now on Jim’s tour, Van Wert is in the mix with Flint, Mich., Cincinnati, Durham, N.C., and Virginia Beach, Va.  I feel very fortunate that we were able to secure Jim for February 13.  He is the absolute best performer I can think of for a Valentine’s Day concert. When you attend Sunday’s concert, I think you will realize why he is recognized as “America’s Romantic Piano Sensation.”

His musical discography includes songs like “Valentine,” “Love of My Life,” and “Beautiful,” just to name a few.  He has won many awards including a Dove Award most recently by the Christian music industry.  Many of his albums have included religious music, although it is his romantic piano stylings and songs that have made Jim Brickman who he is.

He has collaborated with such stars as Lady Antebellum, Donny Osmond, Michael Bolton, Olivia Newton-John and even Kermit The Frog!  In his Van Wert performance, he will be bringing a vocalist to share the stage with him as well as a band.  If you have heard Jim’s music, you know that he also sings and has a very simple yet mesmerizing voice that really draws you into his music.

When we clean up from the Jim Brickman concert, we will then start planning for the American Spiritual Ensemble on Saturday, February 19.  If you are in need of a spiritual lift and an entertaining evening, then you won’t want to miss this one!  Both of these concerts coming up will lift your spirits and leave you on a spiritual high because of the beautiful music and the meaningful lyrics.

Call the box office (419.238.NPAC 6722) now for tickets or go on-line at www.npacvw.org.  After a beautiful ballet of skillful and graceful dancers in Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, we will now turn our sights (and ears) to two beautiful musical concerts I think you will love.

FINÉ.
