HEBRON — The Lincolnview boys varsity cross country team competed in the Ohio High School Athletic Association preseason invitational located at National Trail Racetrack, site of the state cross country meet, on Saturday.

The Lancer boys’ team placed eighth out of the 34 scheduled teams to participate in the small school race.  Bayley Tow and Jeff Jacomet led the team, while Ben Bilimek, Alex Rodriguez, and Trevor Neate rounded out the top five for the Lancers.

“It was a great opportunity for the boys to start the season a week early and have the opportunity to run in such a large race on the site of the state meet,” said Lincolnview Coach Matt Langdon. “Two of our kids were running their first high school race ever.

“We definitely found out that there are some things we need to work on moving forward,” Coach Langdon added. “Hopefully, the first meet of the season next Saturday at Delphos St John’s will prove to be a little easier now that we have our first race behind us. We have definitely been practicing better than we raced on Saturday so I am looking forward to seeing how we respond.”
