VWMS CC teams do well at Cincy meet
CINCINNATI — This past Friday night the Van Wert Middle School cross country teams opened up their season at the Cincinnati Moeller Primetime Invitational. The Lady Cougars finished sixth out of 13 teams and the gentlemen had an impressive second place finish out of 12 teams.
Leading the way for the Cougars were a pair of seventh graders. Cassidy Meyers had the top female finish of the day; she finished tenth out of 186 runners. Thane Cowan was the top male finisher; he finished 15th out of 200 runners.
Also scoring for the Lady Cougars were Julia Springer 40th, Natalie Riethman 41st, Morgan Bracken 52nd, and Sammy Allmandinger 82nd. Illiana Ramon (93rd) and Larissa Laudick (97th) completed the top seven.
Other Cougar runners competing included: Maggie Cripe, Chloe Boroff, Kylee Bagley, Courtney Sanderson, Valerie Barnhart and Aimee Nicolai.
Additional scorers on the boy’s side were Nathan Murphy (20th), Jared Shaffer (21st), Dylan Lautzenheiser (25th), and Tyler Nygren (38th). Rounding out the top seven were Sam Easley (40th) and Nick Gutierrez (46th).
Also competing for the Cougar harriers were Ryan Keber, Cade Chiles, Christopher Frank, Max Sealscott, Ben Scheidt, Carter Eikenbary, Corey Oeschle, Stephen Hamblett, Brayden Cox and Noah Brubaker.
