Helen Louise Johnson

Helen Louise Johnson, 89, of Grover Hill, died at 1:10 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born July 11, 1923, near Venedocia, the daughter of the late Reginald and Alberta (Harpster) Plummer. On December 27, 1941, she married James Robert “Bob” Johnson, who survives in Grover Hill.

Other survivors include two sons, Greg Johnson of Latty and Brad (Bobbie) Johnson of Morrison, Colo.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers, Rex and William Plummer; and two sisters, Rosemary Plummer and Betty Geething, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, at Grover Hill United Methodist Church, with Pastor Mike Waldron officiating. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery in Grover Hill at a later date.

Calling hours are from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Preferred memorials: Grover Hill United Methodist Church or a charity of donor’s choice.
