Knight boys 5th, girls 8th at CC meet

COLUMBUS GROVE – The Crestview High School cross country teams ran Saturday in the Columbus Grove Invitational, with the boys finishing fifth out of 17 teams in the Gray Division race and the girls eighth out of 14 teams, also in the Gray Division race.

Top finishers for the Knight boys included Joel Genter, who was third overall in 16:34 to move onto Crestview’s Top 10 runner list. Mycah Grandstaff was 13th in 17:18, Shelby Ripley was 25th in 17:59, Brandon Clayton finished in 62nd place in 19:24 and Andy Burnett was 77th in 10:42.

For the girls, Courtney Perrott was 31st in 21:56, Elizabeth Saylor was 42nd in 22:30, Chelsea Hancock was 50th in 23:20, Hali Finfrock was 61st in 23:52 and Eden Allison finished in 77th place in 25:10.

In the junior varsity boys’ race, Crestview was ninth out of 18 teams. Top finishers included Bryce Richardson, 16th in 19:43; Adam Saylor, 38th in 20:19; Andrew Boley, 45th in 20:37; Corbin Schumm, 57th in 20:57; and Noah Daugherty, 100th in 22:12.

The Knights will run this coming Saturday in the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival.
