WT schools receive $645,000 grant

HAVILAND — Wayne Trace Locals Schools, in partnership with the Western Buckeye Educational Service Center, has announced the award of a five-year Ohio Department of Education grant in the amount of $645,875.

The purpose of the grant is to continue to increase reading and math achievement of at-risk students as measured by the Ohio Achievement Tests. Select students in grades 6-12 will be provided a structured after-school program to increase academics, enhance health/character development and encourage parent involvement.

Wayne Trace Junior-Senior High School will be the location of the after-school program. This site was chosen to address needs identified using academic and economic indicators. This program is designed to serve 36 students and their families.
