Heart Land Patriots to meet in October
Information submitted
The Van Wert County Heart Land Patriots will meet Tuesday, September 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room of Trinity Friends Church’s Family Life Center, 605 N. Franklin St. in Van Wert.
Agenda items will include a recap of the very successful information booth manned by the Patriots during the Van Wert County Fair, during which hundreds of pieces of literature were distributed educating fair-goers concerning local, statewide, and national candidates that hold the fiscally and socially conservative values held dear by Ohio and Midwestern voters.
Local House of Representative candidate Pete Schlegel will be on hand to share his credentials with the Patriots, as he will have to miss the scheduled Candidates Night set for Tuesday night, October 2, at 6:30 p.m. in the Youth Room in the Family Life Center.
The Patriots will be contacting candidates in contested local races to attend the Candidates Forum and present their qualifications for office, as well as field questions from those in attendance.
Past Candidate Nights have been well attended, and the Patriots believe that with this election, from top to bottom being one of the most important in many years, the Youth Room will be filled with citizens interested in hearing answers to their questions in preparation for the early voting season, which also begins on October 2 in Ohio.
The regular October meeting, to be held Tuesday, October 9, in the Fireside Room, at 6:30 p.m., also promises to be one filled with excitement for the last great push to get out the vote for the November 6 election.
Further information on any Heart Land Patriot event may be obtained by phoning the Rev. Keith Stoller at 419.968.2869.
